Job Objective

Working in a busy multi-tier technical support environment providing an efficient and effective service to our end customers. Proactively monitoring and supporting music service devices and sound equipment over large corporate networks rectifying faults remotely and over the telephone. Liaising with 2nd and 3rd Line support, Operations and other areas of the business to provide a complete managed solution for our customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answering support calls from customers and engineers.
  • Gathering call details, diagnosis and logging onto a bespoke database.
  • Providing 1st fix over the phone or network.
  • Raising quotations for repairs/replacement parts.
  • Ensuring engineer visits are progressed through to the correct team to enable attendance.
  • Raising the appropriate paperwork for billing.
  • Accurate record keeping of problems and solutions for future reference.
  • Escalation of calls to 2nd and 3rd line support as necessary.
  • Monitoring network statistics/faults and other measures.

Knowledge and skills:

  • GCSE, or equivalent at grade C or above in Maths and English
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and levels of accuracy
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Passion for technology and problem solving

The Role

Dealing with a portfolio of clients you will be supervising and managing delivery of complex, multifaceted tasks and projects ensuring, as part of the Operations team, delivery of projects within budget and timeframes.

Through a combination of site visits/information received from various 3rd parties, you will be required to review and interpret plans/designs accurately to understand and recommend solutions for the client’s needs. You will be responsible for managing the project through from receipt of order to completion of works, including attendance at site meetings, overseeing the system design, installation, commissioning, programming and any hardware training, where applicable, to the client.

The Project Manager will represent the company and its products whilst out visiting new/existing clients, so excellent communication skills and understanding of sound/visual systems is a must.

Key tasks include:

  • Attending site Briefings/Pre-contract meetings.
  • Specification of Product equipment.
  • Keeping up to date with new technologies and developments.
  • Improving the value of the work that we can offer our clients by recommending optimal AV designs.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good organisation and time-management skills.
  • Liaising with internal colleagues to enable generation of quotations.
  • Production of all technical documentation, for all projects.
  • Understanding of basic CAD, Excel, Word.
  • Production of relevant H&S documentation.
  • Trustworthiness and discretion when handling confidential information.

It is expected that the successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role.

Programming knowledge and experience of Bose Sound Processors, Symetrix, Audac and TOA would be an advantage, as would some understanding and experience in Video distribution matrices (HDMI, VGA) to supply video to multi-screen installation projects using CT5/6 structure cabling/basic IT networking/AV system knowledge.
